How to file a complaint or report insurance fraud:
Contact the SC Department of Insurance Office of Consumer Services to file a consumer complaint if you disagree with the denial, amount, or handling of a claim; the amount your insurance company is charging in premiums; or any other complaints regarding your insurance. The Office of Consumer Services can also assist you with questions about your insurance.
Make a fraud report if you suspect criminal acts such as filing false or inflated insurance claims, staging automobile accidents, selling insurance without a license, selling fake policies, or any other fraudulent acts related to the business of insurance.
Contact Medicare or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to report Medicare fraud and abuse.
