On March 18, 2019, the SCDOI issued a Request for Applications for the first round of funding (up to $10M) under the state's allocation for the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust. Per the Application Manual, funding was expected to be awarded within 45 days following conclusion of the application period; the 45 days concluded on July 1, 2019. The Application Manual goes on to state that an announcement would be sent out via the VW Settlement email distribution list if the SCDOI was unable to complete the application evaluation process within that time frame.
On June 28, 2019, the SCDOI sent out an announcement advising that the time frame had been extended until July 22, 2019. This notice is to advise you that, pursuant to the above, the SCDOI has again extended the time frame for the review of the above-referenced applications for funding. Awards are expected to be announced on or before August 16, 2019.
