The South Carolina Department of Insurance to Hold a Public Hearing in Myrtle Beach

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Hurricane season is here and the South Carolina Department of Insurance encourages all South Carolinians to review their insurance policies and plan now for what may lie ahead this storm season. To help residents prepare, the Department is hosting the annual coastal property information session and hearing regarding the status of the coastal property insurance market on Wednesday, June 27, from 6:00 -7:30 p.m.  The session and hearing will be held in the Old Train Depot, located at 851 Broadway Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.

“I encourage everyone to prepare now and be storm ready for this upcoming season,” said Director Ray Farmer. “We look forward to meeting with residents to discuss the status of the coastal property insurance market, help them with their insurance questions and concerns and provide information to help them be storm ready.”

This yearly event provides residents of the Palmetto State an opportunity to meet with staff and experts to learn more about the coastal property insurance market, ways to save money on their insurance costs and get answers to their insurance questions.
