The SC Department of Insurance announced today that it has released the first draft of the State's Beneficiary Mitigation Plan (BMP) under the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust and scheduled a public meeting for Tuesday, May 1st. As a part of the announcement, Director Farmer advised that there will be a 45-day public comment period on the draft BMP. Written comments are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, May 25, 2018. In conjunction with the public comment period, there will be a public meeting to solicit comments and input regarding the draft BMP as detailed below:

All organizations or interested parties planning to attend the public meeting should register in advance by emailing the name(s) and affiliations (if any) of the attendees(s) to vwsettlement@doi.sc.gov no later than Friday, April 27, 2018.
