On May 16, 2023, Governor McMaster signed bill S.520 (Act No. 30), amending the South Carolina Code of Laws by adding Article 23 to Title 38, Chapter 71. Act No. 30 establishes, among other things, a license requirement for Pharmacy Services Administrative Organizations and authorizes the Department of Insurance to enforce the provisions of Article 23.

You may follow this step-by-step guide to complete the electronic application via NIPR.
The renewal period is December 1 through February 15 and repeats annually. PSAOs that have not renewed their license by March 1st will be subject to an initial license fee and may be subject to administrative action for any period of time for which the PBM license is not active.
All renewal applications and $500 filing fee, must be submitted electronically via NIPR.com.
