How to Contact An Insurance Company\Agent
- Select a line of insurance from the Market Assistance Report below and click on an insurer.
- After selecting the insurer of your choice, write down the insurer's 6-digit COMPANY CODE number.
- At the top of the web screen, in the left corner, click "page back arrow". Your screen will return to the "Market Assistance Program" page.
- Click on the "SEARCH FOR COMPANIES" link.
- When the company licensing search screen appears, type in the 6-digit South Carolina COMPANY CODE and click the "SEARCH" button. The Company "LICENSING SEARCH RESULT" screen will appear.
- Next click on the COMPANY'S NAME, and the company's address and telephone number will appear. Consumers can then move the curser to the right side of the screen and click "View Closed Complaints or View Licensed/Appointed Producers by City". The View Closed Complaints screen will reflect the number of complaints filed against an insurance company. The View Licensed Producer will reflect a list of producers appointed by that insurance company.
- On the Company Licensed/Appointed Producers Search screen, key in the city and state desired.
