Overview

Title 38, Chapter 87 of the South Carolina Code of Laws [pdf 50k], details the regulations for Risk Retention Groups.
 

Licensing

Please complete the following documentation and submit the information as a complete package to the attention of Tim Campbell, Chief Financial Analyst.

  1. Application for Registration as a Risk Retention Group, Form 1030 [pdf 43k]
     
  2. Appointment of Attorney to Accept Service, Form 1027 [pdf 47k]
     
  3. Biographical Affidavit, NAIC Form 11 [pdf 123k]

    An affidavit should be submitted on each office and director of the Risk Retention Group. 
          
  4. Certification [pdf 10k]

    The certification must be completed by the Risk Retention Group's domiciliary insurance department.
     
  5. Licensing fee of $1200.  The check should be made payable to the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
