Captives Information

Annual Reports for Captives

Before March first of each year, all captive insurance companies, Risk Retention Groups: Domestic and Special Purpose Financial Captives must submit annual reports of their financial condition to the Department.

In some instances, a captive insurance company may make written application to file on a fiscal year end that is consistent with the parent company’s fiscal year.  If an alternative reporting date is granted, the annual report is due sixty days after the fiscal year end.  Also, in order to provide sufficient detail to support the premium tax return, the pure captive insurance company must file pages 1 through 7 of the "Captive Annual Report" before March 1 yearly for each calendar year end.
