Online Services Agreement and Initial Disclosure

Thank you for your interest in the South Carolina Department of Insurance’s Online Regulatory Services. By clicking "Subscribe," the applicable link, or by placing a check () in the appropriate box, you are acknowledging receipt of the Online Services Agreement and Initial Disclosure ("Agreement") and you are agreeing and consenting to the following:

  1. We may deliver via electronic communication (including email) any letters, memoranda, correspondence, bulletins, disciplinary orders or future notices including notices about license renewals, lapses, cancellations, or other information related to your license status and any information or notice this Department is required by law or regulation to provide to you related to the regulatory services of the South Carolina Department of Insurance. The aforementioned information is hereinafter collectively referred to as "Notices".

  2. You agree to accept electronic delivery of any Notices in lieu of postal service delivery. We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to provide a paper (instead of electronic) copy of any Notices that you have authorized us to provide electronically.

  3. We may deliver Notices to you electronically by posting the Notice itself or a link to the Notice as published on our website in an email directed to the email address you have provided or by sending the Notice itself to the email address that you have provided.

  4. We may provide the Agreement and any amendments or revisions thereto to you in electronic form.

  5. You agree to promptly update your records with this Department for changes in your email address.

  6. You acknowledge that you can update your email address information by using SCDOI Online Services. Individuals with an active insurance license can update individual contact information using the Email Notification Subscription on our website homepage or Update Individual Demographics under SCDOI Online Services => Registered Individual Users. Additional instructions about updating individual demographic information is available on the Department’s website at www.doi.sc.gov.

  7. You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications and cancel your electronic notification subscription by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the footer of any email from the Department. Alternatively, you can access your demographic information and withdraw your consent by removing the check mark in the appropriate box.

  8. You may obtain a paper copy of this Agreement and any Notices by printing the Agreement or Notices.

  9. In order to access, view, and retain electronic Notices that we make available to you, you must have:
    • an Internet browser that supports 128 bit encryption specifically Internet Explorer version 4.0 and higher;
    • sufficient electronic storage capacity on your computer's hard drive or other data storage unit;
    • an e-mail account with an Internet service provider and e-mail software in order to receive our electronic Notices;
    • a personal computer (for PCs: Pentium 120 Hhz or higher), operating system and telecommunications connections to the Internet capable of receiving, accessing, displaying, and either printing or storing Notices received from us in electronic form or by access to our web site using the browsers specified above; and
    • software that enables you to view files in the Portable Document Format ("PDF"). You may download a free version of Adobe Reader for pdf files by clicking here.
